These 33’ twin bay open hoppers are painted light box car red. In 1931, the Standard Steel Car Co. built 500 all-steel hopper cars for the Great Northern. These two hopper paint schemes are within the same road series and were seen in service together. Repairs and repainting at different times over the years account for variations.
