WITH STEEL BEAM LOAD
These 60’ bulkhead flat cars are brown with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built
in 1978 by Thrall for the Southern Railway, they were quickly absorbed into NS during the 1982 merger.
Used to carry heavy loads, bulkheads on each end prevent horizontal shifting from sudden acceleration or
deceleration of the train.
