These SD40-2 powered locomotives are black with red nose and white stripe. Built in August 1973 for
Missouri Pacific, this SD40-2 was transferred to Union Pacific in the 1982 merger. In the mid-1990s it
was acquired by Canadian National and repainted as a class GF-30v unit. The EMD SD40-2 is a 3,000
horsepower, turbocharged locomotive with electronic control systems built from 1972 to 1989 with
nearly 4,000 units produced.
