Hallett Materials (HCTX) provides sand, gravel and similar materials for the construction industry. Starting operations in 1918 with a single aggregate pit, almost 50 are now in use. In the mid-1960s, they began to acquire their own fleet of 70-ton 3-bay hoppers primarily for moving limestone although they were also periodically seen hauling coal. Their products are necessary for roads, bridges, and other infrastructure, while having many applications for improving the environment such as hydro-electric dams, wind farms, soil stabilization, and water purification.
